Brodé Ironing Technique
Ironing of your brodéworks counts as a process which you shouldn't neglect, just like it's sewing. It might look unimportant, but ironing at all phases can be the secret of a perfect result. Iron all the pieces seperate and the final stitching once.

1) A press cloth hinders the damage on the fabric surface by staying between the hot iron and your fabric; and if it's made of a flat fabric and wet, than it helps straightening the wrinkles more effectively. A wool, cotton or canvas polyester fabric is suitable to become a press cloth. You can make your own press cloth from the left overs. Remember to wash regularly.
2)A stitch roll will save your work from marks.
3) Use a thick ironing wood for curved and forceps stitches.
4) Press the iron! Don't iron like you stitch. Pressing the iron means lifting up and taking down. Ironing means sliding the iron on the fabric.
5) Try the iron's heat first on a small piece of fabric.
6) Press the iron with a part of the fabric.
7) If possible, press the fabric from the backside.
8) Avoid from pressing the iron onto the needles - this will scratch the iron and can cause marks.
9) Don't press the iron onto blankets, this can cause marks.
10) Don't press the iron onto a stain or dirt, this causes the stain to harden and cleaning might me harder.
11) Don't press a very hot or very old iron; this will have an effect like pressing on an undried fabric, which means the brightness on synthetic.
